McLean enters not-guilty plea to domestic abuse charge

According to a report by NBC News, singer and songwriter Don McLean has pleaded not guilty to a charge of domestic violence after authorities responded to a 911 call from his home in Camden, Maine earlier this year. His attorney confirmed that the 70-year-old American Pie singer is not going to attend a court hearing set later this month.

Based on the report, the court date will be on February 22, but McLean’s attorney said that no significant outcome will happen at that particular hearing, as the singer has already entered a plea.

It was also revealed that McLean’s wife filed a protection request, but it has since been dismissed after they “agreed to move forward,” Billboard reported.
