Thirty-four-year-old comedian/rapper Nicholas Scott “Nick” Cannon formally filed a divorce petition on Friday, Dec. 12, 2014 from 44-year-old singer-songwriter Mariah Carey after six years of marriage, a report from entertainment news network TMZ showed.
TMZ is now reporting that Carey came late to the taping of a segment for the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting on Dec. 3, 2014 because she had been discussing the divorce settlement with Cannon. The details regarding the couple’s divorce have yet to be made public. The two have said they are currently focusing on their three-year-old twins, Moroccan Scott and Monroe. Cannon and Carrey tied the knot in April 2008, and have been separated since summer of last year.
