Frances Bean Cobain’s estranged husband wants at least $25,000 in monthly spousal support

Frances Bean Cobain (24), daughter of the late Kurt Cobain, is in the midst of a divorce from former husband, Isiah Silva. The two have been unable to split peacefully as Silva (31) continues to demand a significant amount of Cobain’s estate.

According to Entertainment News Network TMZ, Silva has requested at least $25,000 in monthly spousal support, an amount he says Frances can afford because she stands to inherit all of her father’s money and properties. He further claims that because he left his job the year he married Cobain, he is entitled to half of all she earned during their marriage.

Silva also has yet to return the guitar that Kurt Cobain played during his famous 1993 “MTV Unplugged” performance, the last instrument he played before committing suicide the following year. Musician, actress, and visual artist Courtney Michelle Love, Cobain’s widow and Frances’ mother, said the family never planned to give the guitar away, noting, “It’s not [Silva’s]. It’s a treasured heirloom of the family.”
